October is recognized as Menopause Awareness Month, and I love how bold and confident we are becoming as women going through this stage of life. Today, menopause is being talked about everywhere: in the media, on podcasts, and across social platforms. But just a few years ago, when I entered perimenopause, it felt very different. I still remember the embarrassment I felt talking about my night sweats and overheating at my midsection. I dreaded sliding down my traditional comforter to cool off, knowing that if I fell asleep like that, I’d soon wake up freezing in my shoulders and arms. For many women, menopause can feel isolating, marked by hot flashes, disrupted sleep, and shifts in mood and energy.
At Sleeping Dove, this month holds a special meaning. Our comforter was born out of that personal struggle. When I couldn’t find a natural, non-tech solution to help cool off specific parts of my body, I decided to create one. The result is the Sleeping Dove comforter, designed with patent-pending windows that you can simply open to release heat and cool down naturally. Instead of wrestling with split blankets, high-tech gadgets, or synthetic fabrics, you have a solution that’s breathable, organic, and supportive of true well-being.
And the beauty of it is that while this comforter was inspired by my menopause journey, it benefits everyone. Partners, families, and even pets love the comfort it provides, making it more than just bedding: it’s a way to sleep better together.
This Menopause Awareness Month, we’re proud to stand with women everywhere, opening the conversation and offering something practical, nurturing, and natural. Because the truth is, menopause isn’t the end of comfort. It’s the beginning of a new way to embrace it.
