Gravity does the work. The default resting position is closed: the panel rests against your body, held there by its own weight. No fasteners, Velcro, zippers, or magnets. To cool down, lift a panel open, removing the insulation so you can cool with the built-in sheet underneath. To warm up, bring the panel closed and let gravity keep it against your body. It’s a one-handed motion you can do half-asleep.
Cooling pads and cooling mattresses are designed to cool the bed beneath you. Many use cooling materials, pumps, fans, water systems, apps, electricity, or subscription-based technology.
