A Thank You to All Fathers from Sleeping Dove

In the summertime, I love our yearly trip to James’s family cottage in the Midwest, and one of the biggest reasons is that we get to spend time with his dad. He is such a gentle, caring soul. Often, I think that if my dad were still alive, they would have gotten along so well. I also love watching James as a dad to his children. The way his face lights up when one of them calls always makes me smile.

Sleeping Dove wants to take the time to celebrate dads everywhere this month. Their quiet strength, steady love, and constant presence shape families in ways that are deeply meaningful and often understated.

When we built Sleeping Dove, I got to witness that same quiet, steady strength in James. I saw the way he thought through how to build the best cooling comforter for me, and all the hours he put in to get it just right. In many ways, Sleeping Dove reminds us of the sense of security and support that so many fathers bring to the people they love.

This month, we give a special thanks to our two dads, to the examples they set for us, and to all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures who show up with love, consistency, and heart.
